In most of the developing world there is a critical need for safe water; however drilling additional wells is not always the best option. The additional wells still supply contaminated water, and political, monetary and location problems are sometimes insurmountable. Likewise, filtration is sometimes needed, but many methods are ineffective, slow, or difficult to maintain.
This blog is the source for information concerning our Swim for Hope event, occurring Saturday, August 27, 2011. This event is a fundraiser for the American Association of Cancer Research, and is student-run. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success.

Mandy completed the swim on Sunday 20th March 2011. Swim For Life, Phillip Island March 16th 2011. Monday, March 21, 2011. The Big Swim - Day 5 - Sunday 20th March 2011. March was a beautiful day. With blue skies, plenty of sunshine and flat water Westernport Bay looked beautiful. After jumping out of the cage, giving medals to all of the volunteers who had helped her along the way Mandy gave interviews to the TV crews and people from the local paper.
